Monday, June 22nd at 4:30pm. At the St George Library Center – NYPL. 5 Central Ave, SINY 10301.
Staten Island OutLOUD joins our friend, Librarian Kristen Strmel, as we read and discuss “A Hymn To Life” by Gisele Pelicot. She made history during the recent criminal trial in the south of France. Her husband and about 50 other men were convicted of drugging and raping her on multiple occasions. (Mme. Pelicot’s husband was also accused of raping & photographing their daughter.)

Her decision to insist on a public trial shifted prevailing attitudes on many gender-based issues. In “A Hymn To Life”, Gisele Pelicot shares her story with stunning clarity and with remarkable perspective.
This event is open to readers age 18 and over. FREE. The St George Library Center is just a block from the Staten Island Ferry Terminal, where many SI bus lines, SIR train, and the Ferry converge. Several municipal parking ramps and lots are located within 2 blocks of the library. Also, metered and some limited free parking on surrounding streets.
