Global Water Dance & Water Poems

Saturday, June 24th, 2pm at Silver Lake Park, Forest Ave & Victory Blvd, SINY 10301. (Enter the park at the intersection of Victory & Forest, then take the path downhill to the reservoir.  OutLOUD will perform on the grassy lawn (to your left as you face the reservoir) at the water’s edge. Bring a lawn-chair!  Good for all ages.

Global Water Dances will take place all over the world on Saturday, June 24th – Thousands of performers world-wide, will dance to raise awareness on the crucial need for safe water for everyone, everywhere.

Staten Island will celebrate this global event in Silver Lake Park, led by the cre-a-ion dance collective, a vibrant group of Island dancers and choreographers. Staten Island OutLOUD will collaborate with cre-a-tion to present dance and poetry to highlight our concern for safe water. Dance and spoken word: Perfect together.

Free & open to the public. Bring a lawn-chair or blanket.

Alphaeus Hunton, a trustee, are handcuffed together as they enter a police van after being remanded to cells for contempt of court, July 9. Both men refused to answer Federal Judge Sylvester Ryan's questions about who put up the money for the four Communist leaders who have jumped their bail. Another trustee, millionaire Frederick Vanderbilt Field, has been sentenced to 90 days on the same charge.

Staten Island OutLOUD’s Big Read finale performance will be a dance performance with spoken word, inspired by Dashiell Hammett’s “The Maltese Falvon”.

Choreographed by Rosita Roldan, featuring dancers Rosita Roldan, Larissa Schiano Gonzalez, Renee Leibowitz, Laura Neese, and Melissa West.  Spoken word by Pilar Garcia-Sussman, Joseph Smith, and Vincent Vok.  Original music by Rob Keay.  Free!
